Hi, I’m Gemma!
When I was five years old I was admitted into hospital.
I remember I had the wrong Care Bear toy and there were no girls on my ward. I think myself lucky, my first memory of psoriasis essentially orientates around the disappointment at being at a mega sleepover without my favourite teddy bear.
My mum tells a different story. My hair was falling out, my joints were so swollen I couldn’t put on my socks or shoes and I couldn’t regulate my body temperature.
I spent all of my teenage years and my twenties declaring that psoriasis has not affected my life. Looking back at my two University Degrees, now I am not so sure.
